Monster Freak Rockabilly Pinup

I made an illustration on 2006 of a girl holding a book for a children's magazine article, it was about a girl reading and how books felt alive in the imagination, but even though the illustration I made was ugly as hell it stuck with me and have been wanting to do a new version since I made it.
So this year (2020) I wanted to do a remake of it but I wanted to add monsters and creatures from the books she reads as well, so I started playing with the pose until I got something I liked, but overall I still felt it was too stiff or not interesting enough and was also struggling with the monsters since at first I didn't want them to be too prominent and more like sneaking out of the books unnoticed.
So while I was doing that I was asked for a commission and my vision for that was a sort of pinup mixed with lowbrow 50's cartoons and I loved the result so much I tried changing the creatures for this one and loved it since it looked much more dynamic, but then I went further and changed the girl into a rockabilly pinup girl too.

Hope you like it, I also made this one into shirts and stuff, if you like it and would like to support my work you can check this one here:
